Professor Simkins teaches courses in Hebrew Bible and Israelite Religions, the archaeology and history of Israel and Jordan, and the history of the ancient Near East. He has participated in the excavations at Ashkelon and Caesarea Maritima.
He publishes on the political economy of ancient Israel, gender in Israel, and creation and the environment.
He is director of panoramic photography and the web master for the Virtual World Project.
