Overview

Rogem Tsafir is a small fort and residence built along the southern end of the Ma‘ale Tsafir. The site was excavated by Rudolph Cohen in the 1970s on behalf of the Israel Department of Antiquities and Museums. Unfortunately, the excavation results have not been published.

The site contains two buildings. Structure A is a small fort, approximately 9 meters square. A staircase suggests a second floor. Structure B is a residence north of the fort. It contains 5 rooms around a central hall and an enclosed court on the east side; it approximately 10 by 12 meters in size.

When the site was photographed for the Virtual World Project, the Israeli National Parts authority was restoring the site for visitors.
