Grading Criteria

Site Report

The site report is worth 20 points (15% of the final course grade), which will be assigned on the following scale:

0

The written report is dishonest or completely ignores the assignment.

1 - 6

The written report contains many serious factual errors.

7 - 10

The written report lists the archaeological material incompletely and with several factual errors.

11 - 13

The written report correctly describes the archaeological material of the site, but the coverage of the material is incomplete.

14 - 15

The written report correctly describes the archaeological material of the site for each of the assigned categories, but does not demonstrate adequate research.

16 - 17

The written report demonstrates adequate research, covering all types of the material culture at the site, but does not interpret the material culture or explain its contextual relationship.

18 - 20

The written report accurately and fully describes the material culture of the site in its archaeological context.
